Why Facebook is a leader in social networking? Is it better to have a wise king than to give power of making decisions to a majority in a less educated crowd of citizens? Is it always profitable to choose the most popular energy carrier? Answers to such questions may be found in computer simulations carried out in Świerk Computing Centre in NCBJ. The research may be very significant for development of the field of mathematics focussed on theory of minority games.

Environmental contamination, air pollution and the effects of terrorist attacks. Calculations and simulations prepared by the Centre of Excellence MANHAZ related to issues at the core of the security of the country will be performed on the computer cluster of the Świerk Computing Centre, currently under development. The results obtained by scientists was available to the general public in Warsaw already in May in IPJ tents during a scientific festival in celebration of the opening of an educational path dedicated to Maria Skłodowska-Curie in Wawelska Street as well as on the Science Picnic.
